PROGRAMS
Snow Plow Sam

Snowplow Sam levels are designed to help young skaters develop preliminary coordination and strength to maneuver on the ice. Although there is no minimum age for enrollment, skaters must be mature enough to be on the ice without a parent. Helmets (such as a bike helmet) are mandatory for skaters in these classes. Parents must tie skates if skaters cannot. Plan on being at the rink 15 minutes before class to put skates on.

Basic 1-4

Basic 1-4 levels are introductory levels that will allow new skaters to build confidence while learning to skate. Skaters will advance through more specialized areas of skating with a well-structured focus on proper skill development and advance to the next levels as mastery is demonstrated.

Basic 5-6

Basic 5-6 levels are the building blocks for the sport and will allow skaters to firmly grasp their confidence on the ice. Upon mastery of the basic skill levels, skaters will have the knowledge of the sport and the skills sufficient to advance to more specialized skating.

Pre-Free / Free Style 1-2

Pre-Free is the beginning stages of an intermediate level and will give skaters a strong foundation of the sport to choose if they will pursue a recreational or competitive approach to figure skating.

Free Style 1-2 begin the advanced levels of figure skaters will give skaters a strong foundation on which to build skills. Mastery of these levels prepares a skater to move into Advanced Figure Skating and Synchronized Team Skating.

Free Style 3 Plus

Free Style levels require skaters to master and perform specialized movements in well-choreographed performances with music. Skaters will master the required elements of these movements and will increase their abilities in more advanced levels through the USFSA curriculum.

Competition

Skaters that wish to compete in USFSA competitions and are members of U.S. Figure Skating can participate in extra sessions with Coach Sam and Junior Coach Dadra and Coach Savannah. These courses will prepare the skater for their upcoming competitions in the state of South Dakota and will ensure that the skater is ready to perform to their fullest potential on the ice.
